Changes in VA policy and operation are providing Veterans and employees more immediate access to VA than ever before. VA jumped on the internet bandwagon many years ago, to help make things easier for Veterans to stay informed.
Information is now available to Veterans on updated VA Medical Center web sites and Face book pages that are convenient and easy to use. Information on things like flu shots, procedures, prescription services or changes in benefits can be accessed quickly and without leaving home or getting frustrated.
In line with those changes, and voices in the field, clamoring for more information about what's happening, the Mid Atlantic Health Care Netwrok has begun production of a monthly newsletter. Focusing on matters that are current and relevant, Veterans should find the publication timely, informative and useful.
Please visit those sites to get the latest information on news and events in VA, trends, services and practices. Face book and another soon-to-be available service, GovDelivery can provide immediate alerts and updates about critical information Veterans need to know, and deliver it to an email account or a telephone.
Veterans and employees are also being encouraged to use the internet more for personal communication with VA. MyHealtheVet, among other VA programs allows Veterans to view their personal health information and make appointments online securely. Soon they’ll be able to see profile information about VA doctors. It is all in a plan to help Veterans know more so they can do more.
