CHARLES GEORGE VA MEDICAL CENTER, Asheville, N.C. – The Asheville VA Medical Center is offering free flu shots to eligible Veterans at the Medical Center, and at the Community based clinics in Franklin and Rutherfordton.
Shots are being given at the Asheville VA Medical Center, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Monday through Friday until Nov. 5. Veterans should come to the main entrance of the Medical Center and sign in at the desk to the right of the entrance.
Flu shots will also be given out at the Department of Veterans Affairs Community Based Outpatient Clinics in Franklin and Rutherford County. The Franklin Clinic, 647 Wayah St. in Franklin, has flu shot clinics scheduled for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct 20 and 25. The Rutherford County Clinic, 374 Charlotte Rd., in Rutherfordton, will be giving flu shots to Veterans from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Oct. 21 and 26. Call the Rutherford County Clinic at (828) 288-2780 Veterans must bring along a photo ID, such as a driver’s license. This year, one shot covers both seasonal and H1N1 flu. Veterans may also ask for a free flu shot during any regularly scheduled appointment or visit.
